Sleep - It's important

How did you sleep? Did you go to bed when you're "supposed" to? How do you feel after that sleep? Sleep, sleep, sleep. It's important. Stay healthy, feel well, and up trade better after a good night's rest. It seems like this is common knowledge. But do we follow it? I do now. If I didn't sleep well, or just don't feel right, I'll size down and be extra cautious - probably how I should always be. As a trader we need every little bit of mental capital we can spare going towards out trading and one way to make sure the system is running on all cylinders starts the day before (or night before) by going to bed at at a good time and sleeping well so we can wake up fresh. I'm pretty happy with my sleep schedule right now but I have to be cautious. I flip through charts before going to bed so if I end up watching a show or movie and lose track of time, it could throw off the whole schedule. Luckily I've created a fairly fool proof human alarm system, where everyone in the house gets tired about the right time, so even if I don't notice it's bed time, I start hearing "tired/bedtime" remarks.  I even stick to the schedule pretty closely over the weekends to that I don't have to relearn the habits of this schedule. Of course I'm a little more loose with the schedule, but generally speaking bed time and wake up time stay about the same.  I love the workweek, but the weekend allows me to eat a few things that I wouldn't challenge my body with over the workweek. I learned that one the hard way after a day of having a pretty big trade on and constantly having to make special trips to the magical wash away my toils and troubles seat.  I think I should have learned this lesson a few years ago when i did a bicycle race (time trial) and well I went a little too spicy the night before. Anyway my lesson is learned. Eat well, sleep well. Feel good in the morning. I'm gonna go workout. Cheers.
