a Kind of Thanksgiving Pep Talk? Inspired by Mike Bellafiore

On my walk today I was listening to One Good Trade again and there was a section that stuck out to me today (today being a holiday - Thanksgiving). I've mentioned in the past how weekends feel a little weird still because I'm trying to stay in a rhythm and there are things that tend to make that feeling off. I think it should be normal to do things that are not part of the rhythm and be able to adapt quickly and efficiently. I don't want a super strict schedule that has to be kept every minute of every day. Anyway with the holiday came low volume and a day off in the middle of the week and tomorrow will be a short trading day. And I'm just trying to go through parts of my routine that I have control over and will fit into any day (quite a lot of the schedule can have time made for it pretty much anywhere in the day). So, back to One Good Trade. What did Bella say that I liked for today? "You must sit in your seat as much as possible. Professional traders show up for work every day, just like the rest of the world. [You]...do not miss days because of overly fun activities the night before. [You]...suck it up, come in, sit in [your]...seat, and grind it out. After the Close, [you]... can rest. During the great markets, you squeeze every nickel you can out of the markets. You never know how long they will last." It's page 331-332 if you really want to know.  I think this hit the spot for me because I agree. I have these hypothetical days off that I could take, but I would rather sit and do nothing because there aren't amazing trades to take, which is kind of what yesterday turned into, than miss a day that had a huge move in the stock(s) that I'm most likely to watch. I'm not at the level that I want to be and I definitely shouldn't be making excuses to not be trading. Maybe when things are at a point that they are more or less on autopilot, I'll think more about relaxing a bit. Until then, I think the more time you put in the better. There was another part in One Good Trade that comes to mind at the moment where Bella talks about how 10x = x. There is luck involved sometimes in life, but most things that are worth getting in life take some effort - a lot of effort. What's interesting is that all of that effort really isn't that difficult, it's just that we are good at procrastinating or doing something that would be easier, or who knows what - anything that keeps us from really going after what we want (likely because we're afraid of the results for some reason - so much that we don't go for it). All of this just proves that we don't really want X because we are not willing to put in the time and effort to get it. With that said. Go for it. You can do it. Have a great day or night wherever you are! There's so much to be thankful for! Cheers!
