Playing a Game
The idea is simple today. Maybe it's simple sounding, but for some reason it seems difficult in practice, until you have it practiced. But I want to go back a little before I get to that simple idea. I think many people are drawn to the market because it is an opportunity for make outsized gains and not have to be under the constraints of a boss or company and the limitations that are connected to being an employee. It is a sense of freedom, entrepreneurialism, did I say Freedom, yes I did, FREEDOM! You can make the money that will afford you the house/car/fill in the blank kind of lifestyle you would like! But there is a catch. The market is not Freedom. The market is a game. The market requires rules to play this game - a business plan. And if you don't follow the rules you are cheating. Sooner or later (likely sooner) the market gets rid of cheaters - even if it is once in while that you decide to cheat. What is great is that once you have the rules. I think you can win. No, I know you can win. So if you follow the rules you will stay in the game long enough to see those wins - and you won't have those major losses - because that should be part of your business plan. The idea is that the market is a game with rules and if you don't keep them, you're not really playing the game and will be kicked out of the game. The reality is that The market does require many of the things that may attract many to come an play the game - i.e. rules. There is not total freedom. There are many business plans that work in the market, but you have to have one. There you have it. I hope all is well. Cheers!
