Categorization and Preparation
This will be quick. I'm going to start reviewing shortly and there's a lot to go over. I need to better categorize my trades so I'll be going through them and giving them tags so I can see which ones I'm doing better on. Mostly that's all I'm planning on doing today. So I'll see how long I can keep at it. and what I can come up with. How do you categorize your trades? I was also thinking that I need to create a kind of journal but probably not a journal but a folder of information about the stocks that I trade. What I mean is that I tend to traded the same stocks throughout the year but during earnings or when there is some catalyst in the stock and then there a few more that I probably will only trade once in the year. While I usually have a general idea about all of the stocks I trade (sector / industry / institutional ownership / float / short float) I think it would be even more beneficial to go into a bit more depth about these companies and find who owns these companies, what etfs they are part of if they are part of any, and maybe which analysts follow these stocks and see if there are any patterns that I can pull from that kind of knowledge. I think after having done the work for a few of these, I will know where I can go quickly to find this information and then I'll be able to glean this kind of stuff rather quickly when I'm doing my morning/or evening preparation each day/night. Anyway those are the things I'm thinking about as the new year sits around the corner. Cheers!
