Growth - cyclical anxiety

I wanted to write about growth a little because that's what I'm dealing with and sometimes it can be hard. One of the things I think about or get anxiety about is starting over. Even though I know I have a running "score," every month feels like it is a new start and starting at 0 feels very close to being negative. I feel like this makes me be a little more cautious than I usually am and this isn't necessarily bad but I think it can hurt when I might have a trade where I should be putting on more risk but instead I'm taking it easy because I'm building a start of the month base from which I can risk a little more. The problem though is that what was working at the end of the month should hypothetically work at the beginning of the month as well so I shouldn't be changing - assuming the market hasn't had any major changes (but those would be more normal adaptations that are necessary and they are not determined by me). I think that the anxiety comes from a fear or lack of trust in my system, which is proving to work just fine. And as I was thinking about this and discussing this issue with my psychologist, I began to have to think about the progress that has taken place and to remind my self of this and focus more on the process and not dwell on what is not useful. Because let's face it. Trading can be discouraging sometimes.  Tuition is not cheap. Focusing on all of the things that that tuition has paid for - all of the lessons learned and all of the success and great strides forward - should be constantly noted in order to stay out of or pull yourself out of those discouraging times. This does mean that you will be confronting those discouraging moments in the past but hopefully not from the angle of the financial outcome, but from the angle of what was learned so you don't run into that pain again. We must also be focused on those things that are working as well. We need to turn our weaknesses into strengths and our strengths into mastery. You can quote me on that. Cheers!
